Asking For Forgiveness
Philippians 3:13
Have you ever considered if you are living in the Old Testament or New Testament? Most of us would probably answer, I am a New Testament Christian." Some may say, "I think I am some Old Testament and some New Testament."
So, as I was writing this, I got up this morning said my Prayers for today and then out of habit, asked God to forgive me of my sins. There was a moment of silence, in my spirit, and then I heard God ask me, "what sins?"
I started immediately to remember some specific sins I had committed to God yesterday and asked for His forgiveness. I said, "You know which ones."
God replied, "Hmm, let me see, here is what my Word says."
Isaiah 43:25, "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more."
Psalm 103:12, "...as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us."
Micah 7:19, "You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all of our iniquities into the depths of the sea." (also read Micah 7:18-20)
Hebrews 8:12, "For I will forgive their wickedness and remember their sins no more."
Psalm 103: 3-4, "...who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, (4) who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion."
Father continues, "My Son/Daughter, I am unable to find any of the sins that you are referring to." My Son, Jesus, bore your sins and carried your diseases to the bottom of hell, left them there, defeated the devil, was raised from the dead.
When you confessed your sins, past, present, and future, and so You were raised with Him.
"That power is like the working of His mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in this present age but also in the one to come." (Ephesians 2:19-21, NIV)
"My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one that speaks to the Father in our defense - Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. (1 John 2:1)
Get rid of your Old Testament mentality of being an old sinner and just saved by grace.
You were an Old Sinner, You got saved by grace, and now you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
You Have A Blessed Day!
