Foundation Scriptures

Genesis 1-3

Psalm 8, All verses, but especially 4-8

1.     Genesis 1:1 

a.     In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

                                               i.     How did God create everything?

                                             ii.     By Words

2.     Genesis 1

a.     Everything was spoken first, before it came into a Spiritual reality, then some things came into a physical reality. 

3.     Everything we do on this Earth, appears to be physical only. (Not true) 

4.     Let’s back up and separate the Spiritual from the Physical. 

5.     John 6:63-65, (63 “It is the spirit that quickens, the flesh profits nothing: the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit, and they are life.”)

6.     God, the Father could not come to the Earth so that we could feel, see, and touch Him.

a.     Instead, He came in the form of a Man (Jesus) and since Jesus was divine and part of the Trinity and sinless, He is called “The Word of God.”

b.     Now God, the Father could communicate with Man in his human (Physical) body. (John 12:49, “For I have not spoken of myself, but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak,”)

7.     2 Corinthians 5:17-21

a.     Pay close attention to verse 19 – Amplified, “It was God (personally present) in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [Men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor.)

8.     So we see that it was the Father, working and speaking through Jesus, that was setting things aright so we could have fellowship with God. 

a.     Even to the point of grafting us into the Kingdom of God. 

9.     We just established that everything has its origin and receives its life from Words. 

a.     Matthew 12:36 Amplified, “But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give and account for every idle (inoperative, nonworking) word they speak,
